States of Matter

Liquid Matter that has a definite volume but no definite shape.
Solid Matter with a definite shape and volume.
Matter Anything that takes up space and has mass.
Gas Matter that does not have a definite shape or volume.
Plasma Matter that has no definite shape or volume; particles are charged.
Energy The ability to do work or cause change.
Freezing The change from a liquid state to a solid state.
Melting The change from a solid state to a liquid state.
Condensation The change from a gas to a liquid.
Vaporization The change from a liquid to a gas.
Sublimation The change from a solid directly to a gas.
