States of Matter
Term | Definition |

Liquid | Matter that has a definite volume but no definite shape. |
Solid | Matter with a definite shape and volume. |
Matter | Anything that takes up space and has mass. |
Gas | Matter that does not have a definite shape or volume. |
Plasma | Matter that has no definite shape or volume; particles are charged. |
Energy | The ability to do work or cause change. |
Freezing | The change from a liquid state to a solid state. |
Melting | The change from a solid state to a liquid state. |
Condensation | The change from a gas to a liquid. |
Vaporization | The change from a liquid to a gas. |
Sublimation | The change from a solid directly to a gas. |
