Abyssal plain An underwater plain on the deep ocean floor
Climate The meteorological conditions, including temperature, precipitation, and wind, that characteristically prevail in a particular region.
Continental shelf (slope and rise) A shallow submarine plain of varying width forming a border to a continent and typically ending in a comparatively steep slope to the deep ocean floor
Convection The transfer of heat by the circulation or movement of the heated parts of a liquid or gas
Ocean current The steady flow of ocean water in a certain direction, caused by changes in temperature, wind, salinity
Oceanographer A scientist who deals with the oceans including their extent and depth, the physics and chemistry of their waters, marine biology, and the exploitation Of their resources
Submarine canyon Narrow, steep-sided underwater valley cut into a continental slope. The Grand Bahama Canyon, which are thought to be the deepest, cut nearly 3 mi (5 km) deep into the continental slope. Most submarine canyons extend only about 30 mi (50 km) or less
Swell A slow regular movement of the sea in rolling waves that do not break
Tectonic processes Tectonics in the study of processes that form and deform rock and magma - Immy check this one with your notes!
Tsunami A very large ocean wave caused by an underwater earthquake
Turbidity currents An underwater current flowing swiftly downhill due to the weight if sediment it is carrying
Wind action Immy to check...think this is referring to erosion caused by the wind...ie taking away small bits of rock by being blown by the wind
