Barometer A device for measuring the pressure of the atmosphere
Buoyancy The ability or tendency to float in a fluid
Buoyant force The upward force excreted by a fluid
Circulatory system The body system that moves blood through out the body (includes the heart, blood vessels and blood)
Convection The process of the heat transfer through the flow if heated substance such as air or water
Hydraulic multiplication Using an incompressible fluid to increase and transmit force from one point to another
Hydraulic system A device that transmits an applied force through the use of liquid under pressure
Hydraulics The study of pressure in liquids
One atmosphere The atmospheric pressure at sea level (equal to 101.3 kpa)
Pneumatic systems A system in which an enclosed gas transmits a force, causing motion
Pneumatics The use of gas (usually in the air) in an enclosed system under pressure
Respiratory system The body system that supplies blood and oxygen and removes carbon diode from the blood
Sphygmomanometer A device for measuring blood pressure
