Ocean Shore Zone

What is an ocean shore zone? Where the water meets the land
What are the features of the ocean shore zone? Beaches, Estuaries, Inlets, Barrier islands, and salt marshes
What is are beaches? where a shore line made of sand
What are Estuaries? the area the river meets the ocean. Estuaries are made up of brackish water.wh
What are Inlets? the area between barrier islands filled with water.
What is a Barrier Island? Is an island that protects the main land.
What is a salt marsh? a marsh that acts as a sponge during storms it soaks up the excess water.
What are the 3 ways the water moves in the ocean? Currents, tides, and waves
What are Currents? the ongoing movements in the water. An example of a current is The Gulf Stream.
What is a tide? caused by the gravitational pull on the Earth. When the water in the Ocean Shore Zone changes to higher and lower that is called a tide.
What is the name of the two tides? The name of the to tides are called Neap Tides and Spring Tides.
What r waves? The repetition in the water is a wave
