What are the functions for the nervous system? 1. receives and sends info about activities monitors body temperature
What is the structure and what is it made of? brain spinal chord and nerves and they are made of nurons
what are nurons neurons are the basic unit of structure and cannot be replaced like other cells the function is that it carries messages
cell body receives and sends incoming messages
dentrites carry messages to cell body
axon carries messages away from the cell bodies
axon terminals fibers at the end of the axon
synapse the space between two neurons
what are the types of neurons and how many are there? there are three and the names are sensory/motor/and interneurons.
what does the sensory neurons do? they are the neurons that carry messages to the brain.
what do the motor neurons do? they carry messages to the rest of the body.
what are interneurons? they carry messages between the sensory and motor neurons.
what are nerve impulses? they are messages sent through the body.
what is their basic path? sensory->inter->motor neurons
what are the divisions of the nervous system Central/peripheral and /autonitic
