binary fission In biology, fission is the subdivision of a cell into two or more parts and the regeneration of those parts into separate cells.
budding having or developing buds.
cancer the disease caused by an uncontrolled division of abnormal cells in a part of the body.
cell cyclone The cell cycle, or cell-division cycle, is the series of events that take place in a cell leading to its division and duplication
clone in organism or cell, or group of organisms or cells, produced asexually from one ancestor or stock, to which they are genetically identical.
cytokinesis the cytoplasmic division of a cell at the end of mitosis or meiosis, bringing about the separation into two daughter cells.
fragmentation the process or state of breaking or being broken into small or separate parts.
interphase the resting phase between successive mitotic divisions of a cell, or between the first and second divisions of meiosis.
mitosis a type of cell division that results in two daughter cells each having the same number and kind of chromosomes as the parent nucleus, typical of ordinary tissue growth.
replication Microtubules are a component of the cytoskeleton, found throughout the cytoplasm.
spindle fibres Microtubules are a component of the cytoskeleton, found throughout the cytoplasm.
spore a minute, typically one-celled, reproductive unit capable of giving rise to a new individual without sexual fusion, characteristic of lower plants, fungi, and protozoans.
stem cell an undifferentiated cell of a multicellular organism that is capable of giving rise to indefinitely more cells of the same type, and from which certain other kinds of cell arise by differentiation.
