egalitarian adjective - asserting, resulting from, or characterized by belief in the equality of all people, especially in political, economic, or social life.
hierarchy noun - any system of persons or things ranked one above another.
staple noun - a basic or necessary item of food
stratification noun - the hierarchial or vertical division of society according to rank, caste, or class
gender noun - sex
kinship noun - connection by blood, marriage, or adoption; family relationship
norm noun - a standard, model, or pattern
anthropomorphic adjective - resembling or made to resemble a human form
alluvial adjective - Of or pertaining to or composed of alluvium
entrepot noun - a commercial center where goods are received for distribution, transshipment, or repackaging.
hinterlands noun - the remote or less developed parts of a country; back country
catalyst noun - something that causes activity between two or more persons or forces without itself being affected
polity noun - a particular form or system of government
tributary noun - a stream that flows to a larger stream or other body of water
hegemony noun - leadership or predominant influence exercised by one nation over others
patrilineal adjective - inheriting or determining descent through the male line
divination noun - the practice of attempting to foretell future events or discover hidden knowledge by occult or supernatural means
colonize verb - to establish a colony in; settle
