Memoir an autobiographical essay about a particular time or events in a person's life. It does not encompass a person's entire life.
Expressive Writing personal writing that expresses and explores the personal feelings of the writer.
Visual Literacy the ability to interpret and make meaning from information presented in the form of an image.
Encyclopedia a type of reference work that holds a summary of information. Encyclopedias are divided into articles in alphabetical order by subject.
End Rhyme lines rhyme at the end of the line.
Internal Rhyme lines rhyme within the lines.
Half-rhyme words "sort of" rhyme, like dish and ditch.
Repetition the use more than once of any element of language.
Sensory language is writing or speech that appeals to one or more of the five senses'.
Similes use like or as to compare two unlike things and show similarities.
Theme the implied view of life and human nature, what the author wants to express or teach the reader.
