weight The measure of the force of gravity on a substance
mass The measure of how much matter is in a substance
volume The amount of space a substance takes up
density The measure of how much mass is in a given volume
S.I. Means the International System of Units(Metric System). The system of metric units used by scientists to measure the properties of matter.
atom The smallest particle of an element
molecule The smallest unit of a compound, or a combination of two or more atoms.
chemical bond The force that holds two atoms together
ore A rock that contains a metal or other economically useful element
electrolysis A process in which an electrical current breaks chemical bonds
electrode A metal strip used in electrolysis
