Petrified And Preserved Fossil? Petrified- when minerals soak into buried remains, hardening it. Presevered-when an organism is trapped in rock, ice, tar, and amber.

Fossils Are Important Because...... They provide information about earth's history. shows where certain organisms lived. Shows extinct. evolution.
What can cause change to the planet? Evolution, Asteroids, Comets, most of earth's atmosphere protects us.
Dinosaurs ... are said to have gone extinct tian asteroid that collided with the earth. It effected earth's climate. plants died and others began to die de to lack of food. you can still see site of impact.
asteroid that killed dinosaurs.. 6 miles in diameter, similar to a nuclear explosion, crater 100-200 miles in diameter
Precambrian Time Earliest days of earth. volcanic activity was frequent. lava flows ash clouds andheat made life difficult. survival of the fittest. Earth formation bacteria, ferns, jellyfish, worms
Phanerozoic Eon Current Eon, 3 diff Eras. Paleozoic Mesozoic, cenozoic
Paleozoic Era life on land was in trpical climates. Sea levels changed. New life forms. continents collided.mountains built up.volcanic activity. Fish Arachnids insects amphibians reptiles (dominants)Early invertebrates
Mesozoic Era Plate boundaries, rapid plate movement, plants and animals had adaptations that helped them survive. Dminant reptile dinosaurs small mammals birds flowering plants. mass extinction of dinosaurs ended era.
Cenozoic Era Current Era. Climate changes. glaciers. mountain ranges. new mammals. wooly mammaths. survival of the fittest. humans. flowering plans.
Index fossil used to fid relativeage. must have lived long. rock layers. unique. example. trilobites
