reciprocal socialization bidirectional socialization that children socialize parents as parents socialize children

indulgent parenting parents are very involved and place few demands on children
coparenting support that both parents provide one another in jointly raising a child
emotional abuse acts or omissions by parents or other caregivers that could caused serious behavioral, cognitive, or emotional problems
child abuse term most often used to refer to both abuse and neglect
child neglect failure to provide for a child's basic needs including physical, educational, or emotional
physical abuse abuse characterized by infliction of physical injury by punching, beating, kicking, biting, burning, shaking, or otherwise harming a child
