What was the Industrial Revolution? The Industrial Revoution was the beginning mark of factories and machines to replace hand tools and manufacturing replaced framing as the main form of work in the late 18th centry.
Who were the main inventors of the period? Eli Whitney, Robert Fulton, Jhon Deere,Cyrus McCormicks, and Samuel F. B. Morse.
What were their inventions? Eli Whitney- Cotton gin and guns, Robert Fulton- Steamboats, John Deere- Light wweight plow, Cyrus McCormicks- Reaper, and Samuel F.B. Morse- telegraph.
What did slavery expand? There was a lot of land and need more slaves to work.
Explain Henry Clay's "American System." A plan introduced in the 1815 to make the United States economically self- sufficient.
What was the Era of Good Feeling? It was a time when there were no major conflicts between the parties, this occured during Monroe's Presidency.
Explain the Monroe Doctorine. A policy of U.S. oppposition to any European interference in the Western Hemisphere, announced by President Monroe in 1823.
Explain the case McCulloch v Maryland? The state of Maryland wanted to tax its branch of the national bank, if it were allowed, the states could begin to say that they have power over the federal goverment, so they ended up saying the state could not tax the bank.
Explain the case of Gibbons v Ogden? 2 steamboat officers fought over the rights on the rivers of hudson and New Jersey, the state goverment said that only the federal goverment can rule.
What was the Missouri Compromise? A series of laws enacted in 1820 to maintain the balance of power between slave stats and free states.
Who negotiated the Missouri Compromise? Henry Clay.
The Missouri Compromise was a result of..? It resulted in drawing a line to divide slavery, sates north of latitude 36 30'.
What were the outcomes of the Missouri Compromise? Missouri became a slave state and Maine became a free state.
