COACH BOOK LESSONS

TermDefinition
Anecdotal scripting a way to record the events in a literary work.
annotated bibliography a list of the resources. it includes a brief summary of the work: an evolution of the author: the intended audience; and the evaluation of usefulness.
bibliography located at the end of your report. it will cite, or give credit to, any book you consulted.
works-cited a list that includes the sources actually used or quoted from in a researched paper.
Table of Contents shows outline of book and the starting page for important sections in the book.
Preface An early statement that explains the scope, intention, or background of the book.
Introduction serves to give the reader an overview of the book.
Index An alphabetical list that shows where certain topics appear throughout the book by page number(s).
Glossary A list of definitions for difficult or specialized words.
Appendix extra information at the back of the book
NOTES Remember that magazine article titles are in quotations and book titles are italicized. (If you were writing them by hand, book titles would be underlined.)
