Explain Jay's Treaty. Jay went to Great Britain and made a treaty which said that Great Britain would take troops out of forts they still occupied in Ohio territory.
What did Jay's Treaty accomplish? kept us out of war
When John Adams was president, the French seized our ships. As a result, the US got into the XYZ affair. Explain this event. 3 French diplomats, who called themselves XYZ, said US to pay $1 million to meet with their govn't. Adams refused. Instead, he armed US merchant & fishing vessels w/ cannons & soldiers; told them to blow up all French ships they came across..
What was the final outcome of the XYZ affair? France stopped taking our ships and stopped being an ally with us.
