callus softeners | Products designed to soften and smooth thickened tissue (calluses) |
curette | Small, spoon-shaped instrument used for cleaning debris from the edges of nail plate. |
exfoliating scrubs | water-based lotions that contain a mild, gritty-like abrasive and moisturizers to help in removing dry flacky skin and reducing calluses |
foot file | Also called "paddle". Used to exfoliate dry skin or smooth calluses on feet during a pedicure. |
foot soaks | Products containing gentle soaps, moisturizers, and so on, that are used in a pedicure bath to cleanse and soften the skin. |
nail rasp | tool that cuts or files in only one directions; used to smooth off the edges of the nail in the nail groove and reduce the possibility of the nail cutting into the skin |
pedicure | Standard service performed by cosmetologists that includes care and massage of feet and trimming, shaping, and polishing toenails. |
reflexology | A unique method of applying pressure with the fingers to the hands and feet. It enjoys many of the same principles as acupressure and acupuncture. |
toe separators | Foam rubber toe separators or cotton are used to keep toes apart while polishing the nails |
toenail clippers | professional implements that are larger than fingernail clippers and have curved or straight jaw, specifically designed for cutting toenails |
