eukaryotic a cell that contains a central nucleus and complicated internal structure
bacteria extremely small, single-celled organisms without a nucleus; prokaryotic cells
cell wall a structure that surrounds the cell m membrane of some cells and provides strength and support the cell membrane
ribosome a small organelle in cells where proteins are and where proteins are made from amino acids
endoplasmic reticulum surrounds the nucleus; processes material it gets from the ribosomes and uses them to manufacture proteins, lipids & parts of the cell membranes;
mitochondria cell organelles surrounded by two membranes that breakdown food molecules to make ATP
nucleolus produces ribosomes; is the site of RNA & synthesis & storage
nucleoplasm the protoplasm of a nucleus
chloroplast an organelle found in plant and algae cells where photsynthesis occurs
Golgi complex the cell organelle that modifies packages & transports materials out of the cell
vesicle membrane covered compartment in a eukaryotic cell that forms when part of a cell membrane surrounds an object & pinches off
vacuole large membrane covered structure found in plant cells that serves as a storage container for water and other liquids
lysosome special vesicle in a cell that digests food particles wastes and foreign invaders
