What major event led toa food surplus in Great Britain in the early 1700's? Agricultural Revolution
This event in the mid-1700's marked the decline in the need for hand power and increased the demand for machine power, thus creating factories? The Industrial Revolution
What 3 major advancements took place during the Agricultural Rev.? Crop Rotation, invention of farm machinery mass breeding.
What did the cottage industry do? Made hand made goods.
What was Laissez-Faire? A lazy gov't.
Who owned the Tenaments? Factory owners.
How were suburban Conditions? Great sunlight,green grass.
How were factory conditions? terrible dirty unhealthy
Who got paid more men women or children? Men so factory owners would hire more women and children.
What was the business district like? All 3 classes came together at stores but there was much theft and crime.
How was women and child labor treated? nobody cared about it and they were treated poorly.
What were Unions? people who lost their jobs to machines and truied getting them back.
What were factory wages? Men got paid 26 shillings women got paid tons less and children even less than women.
What was the enclosure movement? Farmers lost their land to people who bought tons of land.

What did the seed drill do? Produced very fast and quick mass produced crops.

What was the first country to industrialize? Great Britain.
