Renaissance period :) When the world experienced a time of rapid development in exploration.
A cappella :) With voices only; No accompaniment.
Lute :) An early form of the guitar.
Sacred Music :) Music associated with religious services or themes.
Secular music :) Music NOT associated with religious services or themes.
Madrigal :) A poem that has been set to music in language of the composer.
Polyphony :) A style of music in which there are two or more melodic lines being sung or played at the same time.
Canzona :) A rhythmic instrumental composition that is light and fast-moving.
