What is matter? Matter is anything that takes up space and has mass.
Why do we classify objects? We classify objects because it makes it easier to see things. And we group organisms or items by similar traits/ characteristics to better understand.
What is an element? An element is a substance that can't be broken down into a simpler substance.
What is the smallest piece of an element? The smallest piece of an element is an atom.
What is a compound? A compound is matter containing two or more elements joined together the same way every time.
What is impure matter? Impure matter is a substance which contains a mixture of elements.
What is pure matter? Pure matter is a fixed, uniform make up that's always made of the same things in the same amounts.
