The Parts of Cells

These are the parts of the cells.

cell The basic unit structure and function in living things
nucleus the control center of the cell that determines the cell's form and function
cell membrane the outside boundary that controls which substances can enter or leave the cell
cell wall a ridgid layer of nonliving materials that surround the plant cell that gives it a boxlike shape
cytoplasm the gooey like substance that is like the glue of the cell that everything floats in
mitocondria the rod shaped structure that produces energy for the cell
chloroplasts the little things that capture energy from sunlight to produce food for only the plant cell
vacuole the sack that stores food for the cell like water, food, waste, etc.
lysosome the small structure that breaks down food chemicals for the cell
golgi body the part of the cell that recieves protiens and other new materials from the ER
endoplasmic reticulum (ER) the part that forms passageways for the cell to carry proteins and other new materials
