Array | a rectangular arrangement of elements, such as squares or dots, organized in rows and columns |
Associative Property of Multiplication | this property states that the product of a set of numbers is the same no matter how the numbers are grouped. Parentheses typically indicate the groups. For example: 2x(3x4)=(2x3)x4 |
Attributes | characteristics or properties of members of a set |
Basic Multiplication Facts | all multiplication combinations of any two factors 0 through 9 |
Common Factor | a counting number that is a factor of two or more numbers |
Common Multiple | a counting number that is a multiple of two or more numbers |
Commutative Property of Multiplication | the order in which the numbers are multiplied does not change the product. For example: 6x7=7x6 |
Prime Number | a counting number that has exactly two unique factors, 1 and the number itself |
Product | the answer to a multiplication problem |
Quotient | the answer to a division problem |
Remainder | the quantity that is left over when the quotient is not a whole-number result |
Square Number | a number that is equal to a counting number times itself. It can be represented by dots forming a square. |
Venn Diagram | a pictorial method of representing relationships between sets, where circular areas represent groups of items with common properties. |
