Question | Answer |
particle | a very small unit of a substance. All things are made of these. |
solid | an object that has a fixed shape. The particles are tightly packed together. |
liquid | It has a free-flowing shape. Particles are less close together. It flows to fill a container and can be poured. |
gas | It is free-moving. It doesn't have a shape but can fill a container. Particle are far apart. |
diffusion | The spreading out of gas or liquid particles in another gas or liquid or sometimes a solid. |
compress | to press down and squash something |
flow | to move freely. Water does this in a river |
dissolve | when a solid becomes part of a liquid. Sugar does this in warm water. |
steam | this is produced when water boils. |
