Question | Answer |
Absolute value | The distance from zero. |
Whole numbers | 0 and all natural or counting numbers. |
Integers | Includes 0, positive and negative integers. |
Rational numbers | Any number that can be written as a fraction and does not equal zero. |
Real numbers | All numbers. |
Irrational numbers | Numbers that do not terminate nor do they repeat. |
Equivalent fractions | Fractions that can be written 2 or more ways but equal the same thing. example- 1/2=2/4. |
Acute | An angle whose measure is greater than 0 and less than 90 degrees. |
Coefficient | The numeric factor in a term; ex, the number 3 in the term 3xy, and 1 is the coefficient in the term ab. |
Coordinate plane | A plane determined by the intersection of two perpendicular number lines in which any point can be located. |
Equation | A statement that shows two mathematical expressions that are equal to each other. |
Equilateral | In a given shape, all sides have the same length. |
Equivalent | Two items that have the same value. |
Isosceles triangle | A triangle with at least two congruent sides. |
Obtuse | An angle measure greater than 90 and less than 180 degrees. |
Ordered pairs | A pair of numbers that gives the coordinates of a point on a grid in this order (horizontal coordinate, vertical coordinate) |
Quadrants | The two axes of a coordinate system divide the plan into four separate sections known as quadrants. these are identified as the first, second, third, and fourth quadrants. |
Scalene triangle | A triangle that has no congruent sides. |
