Question | Answer |
Order of Operations | a set of rules used to solve mathematical problems |
Decreasing Order | to go from the greatest value to the least value |
Increasing Order | to go from the least value to the greatest value |
Number line | a line with numbers placed in their correct position |
Rational Number | any real number that can be expressed as the ratio of two integers |
Irrational Number | any real number that cannot be expressed as the exact ratio of two integers |
Real Number | a number that is either rational or irrational |
Natural Number | any whole number greater than zero |
Counting Number | a positive whole number |
Whole Number | a positive or negative number, including zero that does not contain a fraction or decimal |
Integer | any positive or negative whole number or zero |
Exponent | shows you how many times the base appears in the product |
Power of a Number | shows you how many times to use the number in a multiplication |
Expression | an expression which is obtained by performing a finite number of the following operations on symbols representing numbers: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, raising to a power |
Simplify | to make more simple, reduce, add, subtract, multiply, divide |
Sum | answer to an addition problem |
Difference | answer to a subtraction problem |
Product | answer to a multiplication problem |
Quotient | answer to a division problem |
Evaluate | to calculate the numerical value |
