| Question | Answer |
| independent variable | the data that you know ahead of time, goes on the X axis |
| dependent variable | the data that you are collecting, goes on the Y axis |
| best fit line | a straight line that shows the TREND of your data on a graph |
| extrapolation | predicting values on a graph that are BEYOND your plotted points |
| interpolation | finding values on a graph that are IN BETWEEN your plotted points |
| frame of reference (point of reference) | the perspective from which your measurements are made - like the starting line for a race. (The most common one is "the Earth".) |
| momentum equation | momentum = mass x velocity (P = M x V) |
| conservation of momentum | the concept that the TOTAL momentum of two objects is the same before AND after a collision between the objects |
