| motion | the change of position of an object, by the action of a force |
| speed | distance traveled in a certain amount of time (distance divided by time) |
| velocity | the speed of an object ALONG WITH the direction it is traveling |
| force | a push or a pull |
| speed equation | speed = distance/time (speed equals distance divided by time) |
| acceleration | the situation of speeding up (increasing velocity), slowing down (decreasing velocity), or changing direction |
| momentum | how hard it is to stop an object (depends on BOTH the mass and velocity of an object) |
| mass | the amount of matter (atoms) in an object |
| inertia | an object's resistance to change in motion (ONLY depends on the mass of an object) |
| dependent variable | that data that you are gathering, goes on the Y-axis |
| independent variable | information known ahead that you choose, goes on the X-axis (time is almsot always independent) |
| extrapolation | finding values not collected that are out beyond (or before) the graphed data |
| interpolation | finding values not collected that are in between the graphed data |
