Factor | A whole number which divides evenly into another whole number |
Factor Pair | 2 factors which are multiplied together to get a product (answer to multiplication problem) |
Common Factor | A factor that is 'shared' by two or more numbers |
Greatest Common Factor (GCF) | The LARGEST factor that is 'shared' by two or more numbers |
Prime Number | A whole number with ONLY one factor pair |
Composite Number | A whole number with MORE than one factor pair |
Prime Factorization | Any composite number may be written as a product of prime numbers |
Relatively Prime | Numbers a re relatively prime if their GCF is 1 |
Multiple | a.) all numbers landed upon when skip counting b.) the product of a number and another whole number |
Common Multiple | All multiples that are 'shared' by 2 or more numbers |
Least Common Multiple (LCM) | The smallest multiple that 2 or more numbers 'share' |
