| Amplitude (A) | The maximum displacement from the equilibrium position in oscillatory motion. It represents the peak value of position and is usually measured in meters (m). |

| cycle | One complete repetition of a periodic motion. For example, one full back-and-forth motion of a pendulum or spring. |

| Effective Spring Constant | When multiple springs are combined, the effective spring constant describes the overall stiffness |
| Simple Pendulum | A mass (called a bob) suspended from a string or rod of fixed length that swings back and forth under the influence of gravity. It exhibits SHM for small angles. |
