Cultural Divergence	When a culture separates or goes in a different direction
Cultural Convergence	The tendency for cultures to become more alike as they increasingly share technology and organizational structures in a modern world united by improved transportation and communication
Acculturation	The adoption of cultural traits, such as language, by one group under the influence of another
Syncretism	The blending of cultures and ideas from different places.
Assimilation	The process through which people lose originally differentiating traits, such as dress, speech particularities or mannerisms, when they come into contact with another society or culture.
Multiculturalism	The view that cultures, races, and ethnicities, particularly those of minority groups, deserve special acknowledgment of their differences within a dominant political culture.
Cultural Relativism	The principle that an individual human's beliefs and activities should be understood by others in terms of that individual's own culture.
Ethnocentrism	The feeling that one's own ethnic group is superior.
Local Culture	The set of behaviors, beliefs and customs that exist in a country
Non-Material Culture	Anything on the landscape that comprises culture that cannot be physically touched
Material Culture	Anything that can physically be seen on the landscape.
Cultural Hearth	A place of origin for a widespread cultural trend.
Indigenous Culture	a culture group that constitutes the original inhabitants of a territory,
Cultural Trait	The specific customs that are part of the everyday life of a particular culture, such as language, religion, ethnicity, social institutions, and aspects of popular culture.
Centripetal force	An attitude that unifies people and enhances support for a state.
Centrifugal force	Forces or attitudes that tend to divide a state.
Cultural Landscape	Cultural attributes of an area often used to describe a place (e.g., buildings, theaters, places of worship
Sequent Occupance	The notion that successive societies leave their cultural imprints on a place, each contributing to the cumulative cultural landscape.
Gender	The differences between men and woman
Gender Roles	The idea that there are certain social expectations and rights associated with being a man or a woman.
GII(Gender Inequality Index)	measure of the extent of each country's gender inequality in terms of reproductive health, empowerment, and the labor market.
Gendered Spaces	Areas in which particular genders of people, and particular types of gender expression, are considered welcome or appropriate, and other types are unwelcome or inappropriate.
