| Scale Model | a model of a figure or object in which each of the measurements are proportional to the original |
| corresponding sides | the sides with the same relative position in two congruent figures; Corresponding sides of two similar figures have the same relative position and are proportional which means the ratios of the corresponding sides are equal. |
| scale drawing | a proportional two-dimensional sketch of an object that accurately depicts the object examples: blue prints & maps (reduced images) , drawing of microscopic bacteria (enlargement) |
| scale factor | the ratio of any two corresponding lengths in two similar figures |
| corresponding angles | angles in the same relative position in two or more polygons that have an equal number of sides; Corresponding angles are on the same side of a line that intersects two lines. |
| scale (of a model) | a ratio representing the constant of proportionality between a scale model and the actual figure that it represents. A scale is a ratio which is used to make a drawing that is smaller or larger than the actual object. |
| proportional relationship | two variables are in a proportional relationship when the ratio of the quantities is always equivalent for any pair of corresponding values |
| constant of proportionality | the value of the ratio between two proportional quantities ratio y/x or k |
