| place value | the value a digit has based on its position in a number |

| consecutive | whole numbers that follow each other without any gaps |
| equal to | having the same overall value |
| less than | the relationship between numbers when one number's value is less than another number's value |
| greater than | the relationship between numbers when one number's value is more than another number's value |
| compare | to determine whether one number or set is more than, less than or equal to another number or set using symbols |
