Drafting | Universal language that uses drawings and numbers to represent an object. |
Dimensioning | Adding measurements to a drawing. |
To Find the Center a Drawing | Bisect the corners. |
To Center a Drawing | Divide the measurements in half. |
Transferring | Using one line to draw another. |
T-square | Used to draw horizontal lines. |
Triangles | Used to draw angles and vertical lines. |
Compasses/Circle Templates | Used to draw circles. |
Brushes | Used to clean off drawings. |
Protractors | Used to measure any angle between 0-180 degrees. |
Eraser Shields | Used to protect good lines while deleting bad lines. |
Pencils | Contain graphite. |
Layout Drawing | 2 dimensional and shows the size and shape of an object. |
Orthographic Projection | 3 separate views of the same object. |
Horizontal Lines | Go side to side. |
Vertical Lines | Go up and down. |
Object Lines | Should be sharp and dark. |
Construction Lines | Should be light. Used to layout an object's basic shape. |
Center Lines | Show the middle of an object. |
Extension Lines | Light lines that extend from the object and must not touch. |
Dimension Lines | Lines that have arrows and numbers to indicate sizes. |
Hidden Lines | Lines that describe a part of an object that is not visible. |
