| Term | Definition |
| Geometry | A branch of mathematics concerned with questions of shape, size, relative position of figures, and the properties of space |
| Congruence | Two figures or objects are congruent if they have the same shape and size, or if one has the same shape and size as the mirror image of the other |
| Parallel | Lines side by side and having the same distance continuously between them. |
| Perpendicular | Lines at right angled to each other |
| Right Angled | At 90 Degrees to one another |
| Quadrilateral | A polygon with four edges and four vertices or corners. |
| Similar Triangles | If triangles have their corresponding angles are congruent and the corresponding sides are in proportion . In other words, similar triangles are the same shape, but not necessarily the same size. |
| Acute Angles | Angles less than 90 Degrees |
| Obtuse Angles | Angles that are greater than 90 Degrees |
| Complementary Angles | Angles that add to 90 Degrees |
| Supplementary Angles | Angles that add to 180 degrees |
| Cartesian Plane | A set of axes that meet perpendicularly at the origin (0,0) Each point is measured as a distance form the origin in either the horizontal (x) or vertical (y) direction |
