explain | to make understandable |
retell | to tell again, in sequence, using details |
summarize | tell all main points, in sequence |
evidence | proof from text that supports your answer |
quote | to repeat someone’s words exactly |
phrase | a group of words from the text |
compare | tell how two things are similar |
contrast | tell how two things are different |
refer | to look at something (ie. text) |
