Longitudinal Wave | particles of the medium are displaced in a direction parallel to energy transport |
Transverse Wave | is a moving wave that consists of oscillations occurring perpendicular to the direction of energy transfer |
Amplitude | the maximum displacement or distance moved by a point on a vibrating body |
Crest | is the point on a wave with the maximum value or upward displacement within a cycle |
Trough | is the point on a wave with the minimum value within a cycle |
Wavelength | distance between corresponding points of two consecutive waves |
