Term | Definition |
EQUATION | A mathematical sentence that contains an equal sign. |
ORIGIN | The point of intersection of the x-axis and the y-axis in a coordinate. |
YARD | A customary unit of length equal to 3 feet, or 36 inches. |
AREA | The number of square units needed to cover the enclosed surface. |
PROPORTION | An equation stating that two or rates are equivalent. |
QUADRANT | One of the four regions in a coordinate plane separated by an x-axis and a y-axis. |
DIAMETER | The distance across the circle through the center. |
MODE | The numbers or idem's that appear most often in a set of data |
ALGEBRA | A mathematical language that uses symbols, usually letters, along with numbers. The letters stand for unknown numbers. |
ORDER OF OPERATIONS | The rules that tell which operation to preform first when more than one operation is used (P.E.M.D.A.S) |
MEAN | The sum of the numbers in a set of data divided by the number of pieces of data. |
RHOMBUS | A parallelogram with all sides congruent. |
RADIUS | The distance from the center of the circle to any point on the circle. |
