X-intercept | A coordinate where a graph intersects the x-axis. |
Function | A relation in which every domain value is paired with exactly on e range value. |
Scatter Plot | A graph that displays a possible relationship between two sets of data. |
Coefficient | A number that is multiplied by a variable. |
slope | The rate of change of a line, compares the change in the dependent variable to the change in the independent variable. |
ineguality | A statement that compares two expressions by using a sign other than the equal sign. |
correlation | The relationship between two sets of data. |
equation | A mathematical statement in which two expression are equivalent. |
Line of best Fit | The line that comes close to most points in a data set. |
evaluate | One must substitute any number for the variable and simplify using the order of operations in an algebraic expression. |
Domain | The set of all the first coordinates (or x-values) of a relation or function. |
Range | The set of all the second coordinates (or y-values) of a relation or function. |
sequence | A list of numbers that often forms a pattern |
Expression | A mathematical phrase contains, number, and/or variable |
Compound Inequality | An inequality that combines two inequalities in one statements by using the word "and and "or" |
Inverse Function | A function that results from exchange the input and output values and is denoted by F-1(x) |
proportion | A mathemetical phrase that states two ratio are equal. |
similar | When two figures have the same shape but not necessarily the same size. |
Geometric Sequence | When a sequence has a common difference |
Arithmetic Sequence | When a sequence has a common ratio |
Negative Correlation | When the x-variable increases as the y-variable increase |
Positive Correlation | When the x-variable increases as the y-variable decreases |
