Term | Definition |
Chemical Change | A change in which the object being changed its chemical structure is changed. |
Physical Change | A change in which it is still the same property it is just physically changed. |
Chemical Property | The ability to change into something new. |
Physical Property | The characteristics of an object. |
Synthesis | When you are adding chemicals together to make a compound. |
Decomposition | When you are breaking apart a compound. |
Single Replacement | When an element replaces a different chemical in a compound. |
Double Replacement | When two different atoms in compounds trade places. |
Atom | What everything is made of, has 3 parts. |
Molecule | A combination or group of atoms. |
Conservation of Mass | Matter can never be made or destroyed and all matter has to be equal. |
Reactants | A + B = AB Usually on the right side What are A and B? |
Products | A + B = AB Usually on the left side What is AB? |
