angle bisector | a segment, line, or ray that divides an angle into two equal parts |
perpendicular bisector | a line that intersects a segment at its midpoint at a right angle |
complementary angles | angles that add up to 90 degrees |
supplementary angles | angles that add up to 180 degrees |
perpendicular lines | lines that intersect to form 4 right angles |
parallel lines | lines that are coplanar and do not intersect |
vertical angles | a pair of opposite angles formed by two intersecting lines |
congruent polygons | polygons with congruent corresponding angles and sides |
similar polygons | polygons with congruent corresponding angles and proportional corresponding sides |
acute angle | angle with a measure between 0 and 90 |
obtuse angle | angle with a measure between 90 and 180 |
equilateral triangle | triangle with 3 congruent sides |
scalene triangle | triangle with no congruent sides |
isosceles triangle | triangle with 2 congruent sides |
transversal | a line that intersects two or more lines |
rhombus | quadrilateral with 4 congruent sides |
kite | quadrilateral with no parallel sides and diagonals that are perpendicular |
square | a regular quadrilateral |
rectangle | a parallelogram with congruent diagonals |
trapezoid | a quadrilateral with a pair of parallel sides |
parallelogram | a quadrilateral with two pairs of parallel sides |
secant | a line that intersects a circle at two points |
tangent | a line that intersects a circle at one point |
chord | a segment with endpoints on the circle |
radius | a segment that connects the center of a circle with a point on the circle |
diameter | a segment with endpoints on the circle that goes through the center |
