vertex | the point where two rays meet |
right angle | an angle that measures exactly 90 degrees |
acute angle | an angle that measures less than 90 degrees |
obtuse angle | an angle that measures greater than 90 degrees |
straight angle | an angle that measures exactly 180 degrees |
vertical angles | opposite angles formed by the intersection of two lines |
congruent | having the same measure |
adjacent angles | angles that have the same vertex, share a common side, and do not overlap |
complementary angles | two angles whose measures add up to 90 degrees |
supplementary angles | two angles whose measures add up to 180 degrees |
triangle | a geometric figure with three sides and three angles |
acute triangle | a triangle whose angles all measure less than 90 degrees |
right triangle | a triangle with one 90 degree angle |
obtuse triangle | a triangle with one angle measuring greater than 90 degrees |
scalene triangle | a triangle with no congruent sides |
isosceles triangle | a triangle with at least two congruent sides |
equilateral triangle | a triangle with three congruent sides |
congruent segments | sides with the same length |
