Lower Respiratory Tract consists of: | Bronchi, right lung, left lung, bronchioles, alveoli, pulmonary capillaries, mediastinum, visceral pleura, parietal pleura, pleural cavity, diaphragm. |
Abdominopelvic System | Located beneath the diaphragm. Contains: organs of digestion (abdominal area) and the organs of reproductionand excretion (pelvic area). |
Homeostasis | Stable internal environment that provides a narrow range of temperature, water, acidity and salt concentration. |
Digestive System | Also called the gastrointestinal (GI) system, consists of a digestive tube called the GI tract, or alimentary canal, and several acessory organs whose primary function is to break down food, prepare it for absorption and eliminate waste. |
Digestive system consists of: | Mouth, pharynx (throat), esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, rectum & anus. |
Tissue | Groups of cells that perform a specialized activity. |

Genitourinary System | The urinary system of both the male & female and the reproductive system of the female. |
Upper Respiratory Tract consists of: | nasal cavity, nasopharynx, oropharynx, laryngopharynx, adenoids, paltine tonsils, larynx, epiglottis, trachea. |
Diagnosis | Establishing the cause and nature of a disease. |
