Proportion | A proportion is a name we give to a statement that two ratios are equal. It can be written in two ways |

Percent | A number or ratio expressed as a fraction of 100 |

Origin | beginning or starting point, and, in mathematics, the origin can also be thought of as a starting point. At the origin, both x and y are equal to zero, and the x-axis and the y-axis intersect. |
X-Axis | The line on a graph that runs horizontally (left-right) through zero |
Y-Axis | The line on a graph that runs vertically (up-down) through zero |
Coordinate Pair | a pair of numbers used to locate a point on a coordinate plane; the first number tells how far to move horizontally and the second number tells how far to move vertically. |
