Enthalpy of Formation | Enthaply change when one mole of a substance is formed from its constituent elements with all subatances in their standard states. |
Enthalpy of Combustion | Enthalpy change when one mole of a substance undergoes complete combustion in oxygen with all substances in their standard states. |
1st Ionisation energy | The firsty ionisation energy is the enthalpy change when one mole of gaseous atoms loses one electron per atom to produce gaseous 1+ ions. |
2nd Ionisation energy | The second ionisation energy is when one mole of 2+ ions are produced from one mole of 1+ ions. |
1st Electron affinity | The first electron affinity is the enthalpy change when one mole of gaseous atoms gains one elctron per atom to produce 1- ions. |
2nd Electron affinity | The second electron affinity is the enthalpy change when one mole gaseous 1- atoms gains one electron per atome to make gaseous 2- ions. |
Enthalpy of Atomisation | The enthaply change when one mole of gaseous atoms is produced from an element in its normal state. |
Hydration enthaply | The enthaply change when one mole of gaseous ions become hydrated(dissolved in water). |
Enthalpy of Solution | The enthalpy change when one mole of an ionic solid dissolves in an amount of water large enough so that the dissolved ions are well seperated and do not interact with each other. |
Bond dissociation ethalpy | The enthalpy change when one mole of covalent bonds is broken in the gaseous state. |
Lattice enthalpy of Formation | The enthalpy change when one mole of a solid ionic compound is fromed into its constituent ions in the gas phase. |
Lattice ethalpy of Disociation | The enthalpy change when one mole of a solid ionic compound is broken up into its constituent ions in the gas phase. |
