Difference | The result or answer to a subtraction problem |
Product | The result or answer to a multiplication problem |
Quotient | The result or answer to a division problem |
Sum | The result or answer to an addition problem |
Factors | are multiplied together to get a product |
Multiples | can be evenly divided by a number |
Composite Number | a number with more than two factors |
Prime number | a number with exactly two factors |
Greatest Common Factor (GCF) | the highest factor that two numbers have in common |
Least Common Multiple (LCM) | The smallest multiple that two numbers have in common |
Prime Factorization (Number Tree) | a number, written as a product of its prime factors |
Improper Fraction | a fraction in which the numerator is larger than the denominator |
Mixed Number | the sum of a whole number and a fraction |
Reciprocal | A fraction where the numerator and denominator are interchanged. The product of a fraction and its reciprocal is always 1 |
Repeating Decimal | a decimal in which a number or a series of numbers continues on and on |
Acute Angle | An angle less than 90 degrees |
Congruent | Figures with the same shape and the same size |
Obtuse Angle | An angle measuring more than 90 degrees |
Right Angle | An angle measuring exactly 90 degrees |
Similar | Figures having the same shape, but different size |
Straight Angle | an angle measuring exactly 180 degrees |
Circumference | the distance around the outside of a circle |
Diameter | the widest distance across a circle. The diameter always passes through the center |
Radius | The distance from any point on the circle to the center. The radius is half of the diameter |
Quarilateral | square, 4 sides |
Pentagon | 5 sides |
Hexagon | 6 sides |
Heptagon | 7 sides |
Octagon | 8 sides |
Nonagon | 9 sides |
Decagon | 10 sides |
Polygon | a shape |
Equilateral | a triangle in which all three sides have the same length |
Isosceles | a triangle in which two sides have the same length |
Scalene | a triangle in which no sides are the same length |
Freezing Point | 0 degrees celsius or 32 degrees Fahrenheit |
Boiling Point | 100 degrees celsius or 212 degrees Fahrenheit |
