Term | Definition |
Prime Number | A number that only has two factors: one (1) and itself. |
Composite Number | A number that has more than two factors. |
Factor Pair | Two numbers that multiply to equal another number. |
Multiple | A product of a number and any other whole number. |
Product | The number obtained when multiplying two numbers. |
Venn Diagram | Two shapes that overlap. In the overlapping section, common elements are listed. In parts that do not overlap, uncommon elements are listed. |
Factor | A number that will divide into a number evenly. |
Quotient | The solution to a division problem. The answer |
Dividend | The number that is being divided. The number inside of the division bracket. |
Divisor | The number that is doing the dividing. The number outside of the division bracket. |
Remainder | The number left over when a number cannot divide evenly into another number. |
