Question
Answer
Polymer   a polymer is a giant molecule that has been produced by joining many many smaller molecules.
🗑
monomers   The small molecules from which a polymer is made.
🗑
synthetic polymer   If a polymer is created by a chemist or a chemical engineer, for example nylon (toothbrush bristles are made from nylon fiber)
🗑
Linear polymer   They are in the form of long chains. Generally they consist of carbon atoms which are held together by covalent bonding, with other atoms or groups which are attached to the carbon atom.
🗑
elastomers   These are also called cross linked polymers, they are like ladders, they form in long chains and they are connected every now and then with a smaller chain of atoms, they made of elastic
🗑
Cross linked polymers   They are largely made up of carbon atoms, they are giant covalent lattices.
🗑
Thermoplastic Polymers   softens when heated gently and solidify again when cooled. they are readily worked into different shapes.
🗑
Thermosetting polymer   do not melt or change shape when heated. If heated very strongly they might turn black, These must produce in mould because they can only be formed once. (eg. playstation 3_

Review the information in the table. When you are ready to quiz yourself you can hide individual columns or the entire table. Then you can click on the empty cells to reveal the answer. Try to recall what will be displayed before clicking the empty cell.

To hide a column, click on the column name.

To hide the entire table, click on the "Hide All" button.

You may also shuffle the rows of the table by clicking on the "Shuffle" button.

Or sort by any of the columns using the down arrow next to any column heading.
If you know all the data on any row, you can temporarily remove it by tapping the trash can to the right of the row.
