Cents Sign | Symbol used when working with coins that represents the value of the coins without any bills involved. It is made by having a c with a line through it.

Estimate | To make a guess at something based on the info that you have. In math we usually do this by rounding the number before working with it.

Pattern | A design of symbols in math that occur in a particular order over and over again.

Dollar | The basis for all of our money in the United States. A dollar is equal to 100 cents. Can come in one dollar bill or many combinations of coins. The sign for a dollar is a s with a line through it.

Bill | Paper form of money that comes in increments of ones, fives, tens, and twenties, for example.

Polygon | A figure that is a closed plane figure, having three or more, usually straight, sides that have segments that meet at their endpoints.

Congruent | Figures that have exactly the same size and same shape.

Expression | A symbol or a combination of symbols representing a value or relationship but not an equality. It is like a fragment of a number sentence.

Fact Family | A group of addition and subtraction related facts together or a group of multiplication/division facts that are related together.

Line of Symmetry | When one shape becomes exactly like another if you flip, slide, or turn it. The place where it is cut into two perfect copies of one another and create mirror images.
