|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Electrode extension | The distance between the end of the contact tube and the end of the electrode.
🗑
| Globular transfer | GMAW application in which average currents slightly higher than those used with short-circuit transfer are used to form a droplet that goes onto a base metal as a result of short-circuiting or gravity.
🗑
| Inductance | the rate of rise of current as opposed to the final amount of current available; used in short-circuit transfer to increase or decrease the number of short-circuit metal transfers per second.
🗑
| Short-Circuit Transfer | GMAW application in which low currents, low voltages, nd small diameter wires are used to weld in all positions on thin to heavy metals.
🗑
| Slope | The slant of the volts versus amp curve, or the volts change per 100 amps.
🗑
| Slope control | A power supply control that regulates the amount of pinch force available on welding wire and controls spatter in short-circuit transfer.
🗑
| Spray transfer | GMAW application in which high currents, high voltage, and large diameter wires are used to weld thicker metals mostly in the flat and horizontal positions.
🗑
| Travel speed | The linear rate at which the arc is moved along the weld joint.
🗑
| Travel angle | The relationship of the electrode axis with respect to the direction of travel.
🗑
| Work angle | The angle between the electrode axis and the adjacent work surface.

Review the information in the table. When you are ready to quiz yourself you can hide individual columns or the entire table. Then you can click on the empty cells to reveal the answer. Try to recall what will be displayed before clicking the empty cell.
To hide a column, click on the column name.
To hide the entire table, click on the "Hide All" button.
You may also shuffle the rows of the table by clicking on the "Shuffle" button.
Or sort by any of the columns using the down arrow next to any column heading.
If you know all the data on any row, you can temporarily remove it by tapping the trash can to the right of the row.
