Atom   the smallest part of an element which still has the properties of that element.

Protons and Neutrons   are found together in the middle of the atom which makes up the nucleus.

Electrons   tiny electrons spin around the nucleus.

Atomic number   the number of protons in an atom of an element.

Mass number   the number of protons and neutrons in an atom of an element.

Electronic Configuration   number of electrons in each shell.

Isotopes   atoms that have the same number of protons but different number of neutrons.

Reactivity   chemical reactions involve the electrons in the outer shells of atoms. Every atom wants to have to have its outer shell completeley full of electrons.
