PROPORTION   An equation stating that two or rates are equivalent.

ALGEBRA   A mathematical language that uses symbols, usually letters, along with numbers. The letters stand for unknown numbers.

AREA   The number of square units needed to cover the enclosed surface.

EQUATION   A mathematical sentence that contains an equal sign.

MEAN   The sum of the numbers in a set of data divided by the number of pieces of data.

RADIUS   The distance from the center of the circle to any point on the circle.

YARD   A customary unit of length equal to 3 feet, or 36 inches.

ORDER OF OPERATIONS   The rules that tell which operation to preform first when more than one operation is used (P.E.M.D.A.S)

DIAMETER   The distance across the circle through the center.

RHOMBUS   A parallelogram with all sides congruent.
